Eligibility Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Permanent resident of Canada
  • Physical presence in Canada for 3 out of 5 years (1,095 days)
  • Filed income taxes for 3 out of 5 years
  • Pass citizenship test (ages 18-54)

Language Requirements:

  • Adequate knowledge of English or French (ages 18-54)
  • CLB 4 level in speaking and listening
  • Language evidence through test or other proof

Other Requirements:

  • No criminal prohibitions
  • Not under removal order
